Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director, IT Project Management Office, Sr. IT Project Manager:
Possesses overall accountability for the planning and successful execution of multiple, simultaneous application and infrastructure large scale projects, employing varied technologies across business units. Ensures project delivery is in accordance with the requested deliverables and within the required standard of quality including the specified constraints of time and cost. Proves that project delivery consistently results in added business value and the achievement of the benefits as defined in the Business Case. Oversees large scale program consisting of numerous related projects utilizing appropriate Systems Development Lifecycle (i.e., waterfall, iterative, agile). Secures and manages strong professional relationships, enabling necessary support and commitment to managed projects. Understands business goals and develops and manages of appropriate application software to suit both business and technical requirements within the confines of architectural parameters, supporting a wide assortment of technologies (Web Systems, Legacy Systems, and Systems Infrastructure). Works with business managers to fully understand business requirements and uncover additional needs, resolve project roadblocks and manage / mitigate risks and issues. Determines required resources per project based on skill needs and obtain resources through strong interpersonal skills and negotiating tactics. Provides leadership, mentoring, guidance and motivation to project team members throughout the IT project delivery life cycle while managing project plan and all deliverables. Ensures the right level of project stakeholder ownership/involvement and removes barriers to enable successful project delivery. Captures and integrates key project metrics related to scorecard and status reporting. As a key player in the IT PMO, works to further institutionalize PM methodologies and promote initiatives for process improvement, innovative thinking and re-engineering. Performs other duties as assigned.
