Position Summary:
Provides day to day oversight, leadership and vision for Quality, Change, Release and Environment Management and Testing units and their respective staff. The primary goal of this position is to ensure the delivery of high quality technology solutions enterprise wide. This position serves as the central point of contact for all quality matters, working closely with IT management and staff to develop overall operating plans and strategies for the corporate quality programs. Assures that all products, processes, and applications produced and delivered by the IT organization are properly released into production and meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels. The position maintains and applies up to date knowledge of all associated technology advancements within the industry. JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsible for strategic direction of Quality and Testing and its alignment with IT and corporate strategic goals. Evaluates existing methodologies and standards, identifies quality metrics, recommends and implements process improvements. Reports performance trends to management. Oversees supervision of personnel, selection, training, performance evaluation and problem resolution; makes recommendations for personnel actions. Ensures compliance with regulatory, security and quality system requirements. Motivates, coaches and mentors employees to achieve peak productivity and performance, and develops high quality QA/testing work teams. Ensures Quality and Testing is represented on cross-functional project teams, estimating test efforts and providing updates on deliverables. Interacts with functional and business leaders to ensure methodologies incorporate change, release and environment management processes, testing processes and artifacts are deployed, understood, followed, and effective. Develops and manages comprehensive programs that address all aspects of testing and verification  unit, regression, functional, security, integration, performance, stress and load testing, and test automation. Maintains reliable infrastructure to support source code control for all test and production environments. Directs ongoing research, evaluation, installation and usage of automated testing tools. Travels between locations, including overnight travel. Performs other duties as assigned. " Possess superior communication skills (verbal, written, presentation). Open minded and embraces ideas of others. " Thrives in a changing environment and excited by opportunity to play large role in strategic development and delivery. Preferred Skills: " Advanced management training preferred. ITIL and Six Sigma certification preferred.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/employment experience required in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
  • 7+ years experience in IT Software Quality Assurance and Testing with 7+ years IT managerial experience (which includes at least 4 years overseeing a QA staff of 25-40).
  • Experience in industry best practice test management methodologies and release, change and environment management functions. Experience in managing projects with complex IT testing requirements. Familiarity with industry leading test management toolsets
  • Practical knowledge in implementing test automation. Able to motivate and lead people, while instilling and maintaining growing IT QA organization.
  • Proven track record of influencing change and building relationships with staff, peers, business partners and management. Enjoys working with customers and partners, and able to influence key stakeholders throughout company for effective execution.
  • Able to successfully implement best practices/concepts while meeting daily objectives of department. Skilled at situational leadership, motivating staff while managing expectations of exceptional performance.
