Department: Customer Care Center

Position Summary:
Provides high quality, proactive service to all Commercial members, employer representatives and prospective members via telephone or personal contact. Function as an expert benefit resource and articulate processes, policies and procedures for efficiently and effectively using the health plans. Process member issues to resolution; respond to inquiries and complete transactions (PCP changes, address changes, etc.), documenting all contacts in appropriate systems (Service Matrix, Medclass, AMISYS, etc.). Responsible for maintaining knowledge of multiple regulated health plans with many variations including diverse prescription drug riders for all products.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred. High-volume call center experience required. Experience in an HMO or health care environment preferred. Bi-lingual speaking abilities English/Spanish is desirable. May consider relevant customer service and office experience instead of call center experience.
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal communication skills: articulate, active listener, empathetic, pleasant tone and pace. Demonstrated reliability and flexibility to meet the needs of the team and the members.
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving the customer effectively. Demonstrated basic-level data entry and word processing skills. Ability to work in multi session windows environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain a high level of discretion in dealing with confidential member medical and company-sensitive information.
