Department: Customer Care Center

Position Summary:
Provide service and education to providers/provider office staff in response to a high volume of referral requests and claims/billing issues. Resolve issues in support of company policies and strategies with a focus on providing excellent customer service.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree (preferred) or equivalent in related experience. Two years customer service experience (high volume call center preferred) plus claims processing/medical billing experience or experience in a provider office required. Managed care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology or successful completion of medical terminology course (grade C or better) within three months of hire. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and understanding and responding to customer needs. Ability to maintain a high level of discretion in dealing with confidential member medical and company-sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow issues through to resolution. Basic data entry and Word for Windows (or comparable word processing program) skills.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT coding preferred.
