Vice President, Sales
Kelly Smith’s journey to becoming Vice President of Sales at MVP Health Care started in an unlikely place—a research laboratory at Albany Medical College, conducting grant research for the National Institute of Health. She had a background in biology and at heart wanted to be a large animal veterinarian. Along the way, Kelly befriended a pharmaceutical sales representative who pointed out that her people skills and personality were those of a natural salesperson. She made a career switch and was soon in love with the fast pace and relationship-building that the world of sales entails. Over the years, she has worked for health insurers large and small, all across the country. She also devoted two years to helping the New York State Department of Health get its first Health Insurance Exchange up and running before joining the team at MVP. Here, Kelly leverages our strong partnerships with health benefit brokers to generate new business, and works closely with various departments within MVP to ensure positive, enduring member experiences.
