In partnership with Elizabeth Wende Breast Care. This bone health presentation will explain what bone density is, why it’s important, and how it changes with age. It will cover common conditions like osteopenia and osteoporosis, their risk factors, and ways to maintain strong bones through proper nutrition, exercise, and healthy habits. It will include information about bone density testing, who should get tested, and available treatments for low bone density. Early detection to prevent fractures will be emphasized.
Instructor Brittany Van Harken, RT(R)(M)CBDT, is a bone density technologist and mammography technologist at the Elizabeth Wende Breast Care and has been doing bone density scans for 15 years.
