Functional Strength Training at Tawasentha Park Fitness Court
- In Person
- Open to the Public
Details
Help participants move and feel better using an evaluation process that looks at seven different movement patterns. The purpose of the movement screen is to identify any limitations or asymmetries that may increase an individual’s risk of injury, when starting an exercise program. The functional movement screen is not intended to diagnose orthopedic problems but rather to identify mobility and stability limitations and allow for a safe progressive exercise program.
During the 1-hour exercise session, an initial evaluation will be conducted with the group for that week. Once we understand the limitations the exercise program for the day will be modified to meet the individual where they are. Each week will progress or regress depending on each individual’s movement competencies. The movement screen will build on itself each week, revisiting the previous week, until the final week.
Fitness Court programs are open to all – participants do not need to be Town of Guilderland Residents.
