Details
Join us to celebrate National Financial Literacy Month! Youth ages 5 - 10 and their parent(s)/caregiver(s) are invited to join MVP Healthcare and Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County for Money Smart Kids & Parents at Albany Public Library – Pine Hills Branch.
This fun program will include lunch for the family followed by activities to help kids develop healthy money habits from a young age! After lunch, parents/caregivers will meet in a breakout room to discuss parenting strategies that guide youth in developing responsible money habits and attitudes. We’ll also discuss strategies on how to use an allowance as a teaching tool, giving kids the chance to manage money within a learning structure. Meanwhile, through activities, games and stories, youth will explore attitudes about money, goal setting, the importance of saving and making good spending choices. Families will come back together to face off in Money Jeopardy: Kids vs. Adults to share and see how much they’ve learned (while enjoying dessert, of course!). Join us to spend special time with your youth and help them learn healthy money habits that you can reinforce at home! Instructor: Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County Staff
