SCHENECTADY, NY, April 26, 2018 — The Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy will celebrate its 2018 Gala on Wednesday, May 16 with special honors – the third annual Creative Spirit Award — being presented to Ellen Sax, MVP Health Care vice president of community engagement. The award recognizes people who are creative thinkers and creative problem solvers.
The event is a celebration of art, local artists, and the creativity of the Capital Region. In addition to sampling hors d’oeuvres from Troy’s premiere restaurants, attendees will enjoy a sneak peak of the annual Fence Show — the largest showing of local art in the region. Now in its 53rd year, the Fence Show was named when members’ artwork was exhibited on the iron fence surrounding Washington Park in Troy, the original location of the Arts Center.
In 2017, more than 300 pieces of art, including paintings, drawings, photography, fiber arts, stained glass, and sculpture were accepted into the show. The artwork is displayed salon style (floor-to-ceiling) and all levels of skill and ability are represented.
MVP Health Care is a proud sponsor of the Arts Center’s 2018 Gala. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.artscenteronline.org.
