MVP Health Care Honored with Vermont Worksite Wellness Award

BURLINGTON, VT, March 6, 2017 — MVP Health Care has been recognized for its internal employee wellness program, Journey to Well-Being^TM, by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness & Sports and the Vermont Department of Health.

The 2016 Governor’s Excellence in Worksite Wellness Award will be presented at the Worksite Wellness Conference held in Burlington on March 23. This is the sixth time MVP Health Care has been honored.

The awards are designed to highlight and recognize what worksites from around the state are doing to promote the health and wellness of their employees. The organizations that receive the awards vary in size, industry and location but all have a common thread, a commitment to workplace wellness.

MVP takes a comprehensive approach to well-being and has defined it as nutrition, exercise and medical care, money management, mind and spirit, friends, family and coworker relationships and home, work and community surroundings. In 2016, 226 MVP employees participated in Mission SLIMpossible, a 12-week weight management challenge, and lost a total of 782 pounds. A post-challenge survey showed that 84.6 percent of respondents who participated in the challenge agreed or strongly agreed that they felt better about their health as a result of participating.
