MVP Health Care Names Judith Feld, MD, MPH, MMM Vice President of Behavioral Health

SCHENECTADY, NY, August 8, 2017 — MVP Health Care has named Judith Feld, MD, MPH, MMM as vice president of behavioral health. In this role, she will further MVP’s commitment to more holistically integrating behavioral health into traditional medical models and creating the best possible outcomes for MVP’s members with behavioral health diagnoses.

Feld is a psychiatrist with more than 30 years of experience in both clinical and physician executive roles. Most recently, she served as medical director, behavioral health/health care delivery innovation at Independent Health, where she oversaw numerous grant-funded initiatives to integrate behavioral health into primary care practices with a focus on achieving the Triple Aim–improving the patient experience, improving population health, and reducing the cost of health care overall. Earlier in her career, Feld founded and led the largest private psychiatric group practice in Western New York, developed the first eating disorder treatment center in Buffalo, and worked in a broad array of clinical settings, including outpatient facilities, mental health clinics, and as an attending physician on a child/adolescent psychiatric unit. She has also held several faculty appointments at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Feld earned master’s degrees in medical management from the University of Southern California and in public health from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She completed her residency in psychiatry at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and past president of the Western New York District Branch of the American Psychiatric Association.

She lives in Buffalo.
