MVP Health Care Names Monice Barbero Senior Leader, Legal and Government Affairs and General Counsel

SCHENECTADY, NY, May 30, 2018 — MVP Health Care has named Monice Barbero as senior leader, legal and government affairs and general counsel, with responsibility for legal, regulatory and corporate governance matters. She also has oversight of the Compliance Department, the Special Investigations Unit and the Government Affairs Department

An experienced attorney with extensive knowledge of health care law, insurance, and managed care business, Barbero most recently served as chief counsel at Cigna Global Health Benefits for seven years. She also served as counsel at MedSolutions, assistant general counsel and vice president at Phoenix Life Solutions, Inc. and counsel for Aetna.

Barbero earned a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from the University of Colorado in Denver and a Juris Doctor degree at Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Mass.
