SCHENECTADY, NY, June 13, 2018 — MVP Health Care President and CEO Denise Gonick was honored today with a Community of Excellence Award by The College of Saint Rose. Recipients of the award are selected for their service and contributions to the college and the greater community.

Also honored at the event were Tammis Groft, executive director of The Albany Institute of History & Art; Alice Green, founder and executive director of the Center for Law and Justice; and Charles Touhey, president of Omega Homes/Touhey Associates. Event Co-Chair Julie Massry Knox said, “Each of this year’s honorees makes an indelible mark on the Capital Region, and we are proud to consider them friends and supports of Saint Rose.

As she accepted her award, Gonick left attendees with this thought: “Make a choice to get involved in your community. Make a choice to reach out to others and help them live healthy lives. You have the power to make a meaningful impact on this community, and you will benefit personally from doing so.”

All funds raised from the A Community of Excellence luncheon, held this year at Wolferts Roost in Albany, support the college’s scholarship program. The event, now in its 14th year, has become Saint Rose’s largest annual fundraising event. This year it raised more than $135,000.
