MVP Health Care’s Trailblazing Partnerships
MVP Health Care partnered with The University of Vermont Health Network (UVMHN) to launch a new Medicare Advantage (MA) product. Together, the organizations are laying the groundwork for the future of health care with the introduction of UVM Health Advantage, the first and only MA plan of its kind in the region. The plan is inspired by input from consumers and guided by UVMHN providers and the Medicare experts at MVP Health Care.
UVM Health Advantage is transforming care for older adults in the region supporting their health journey and removing obstacles to care.
MVP Health Care launched a joint venture with Belong Health to support MVP Health Care’s introduction of a new Medicare Advantage Dual-Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) in service of the Medicare and Medicaid dually eligible community. MVP Health Care’s D-SNP simplifies care by coordinating Medicare and Medicaid benefits in a patient-centric way. The collaboration with Belong Health introduced a level of experience to enhance customers’ experience by connecting them with resources they need, from primary care to behavioral and specialty care, and to community-based social support services.
MVP Health Care is the first in the Capital Region to offer this unique plan.
MVP Health Care and Galileo launched a groundbreaking partnership to offer all MVP members access to virtual comprehensive care, including primary care, chronic disease management, and multispecialty health care.
This collaboration provides first-of-its-kind virtual care access to MVP Health Care’s Medicaid members—a population that was previously regulated to see an in-person primary care physician (PCP).
This service extends to all MVP Health Care customers, who can now connect with a primary care physician (PCP) at any time, day or night, without making an appointment using Galileo’s app.
MVP Health Care launched a collaboration with BioReference Laboratories, Inc., an OPKO Health company, to offer MVP members medically necessary COVID-19 PCR testing, bloodwork, and other diagnostic tests in the comfort of their homes.
The company became the first insurer in New York and Vermont to offer this service, and is doing so by utilizing Scarlet Health™, BioReference’s integrated digital platform that provides specimen collection for laboratory diagnostic services conducted by a Scarlet Health professional in a patient’s home or office.
MVP Health Care expanded the offerings of its innovative Patriot Plan to provide individuals who have served in the military access to free on-demand transportation to and from the VA, free meals after an inpatient hospital stay, free mental health support, and over $100 per year over-the-counter allowance. This plan adds an extra layer of health care to complement veterans’ existing VA benefits empowering veterans to exercise more freedom and control over their health and wellbeing.
“The Patriot Plan has offered me flexibility, choice, and management beyond the services that I am receiving from the VA,” said Ken Allocco, Vietnam War Veteran and MVP Health Care Medicare Patriot Plan member. “Last year, after being discharged from the hospital, I arrived home to meals that helped me heal and recover.”
