MVP Behavioral Health Clinical Practice Guidelines help Providers screen, assess, and treat common behavioral health conditions using evidence-based standards. As part of our ongoing Quality Improvement Program, the guidelines reflect nationally recognized recommendations and serve as a practical resource for MVP Providers.

The guidelines cover a wide range of behavioral health topics, including mood disorders, schizophrenia, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, tobacco cessation, supported employment, family psychoeducation, and recovery-focused approaches. They are designed to promote consistent, appropriate, and clinically informed care while supporting Provider decision-making.

By promoting evidence-based behavioral health care, MVP works with Providers to help close gaps in care, support early identification and appropriate treatment, improve Member outcomes, and align care with recognized quality standards, including NCQA and HEDIS expectations.

These guidelines do not replace clinical judgment; treatment decisions remain the responsibility of the treating Provider and should reflect each Member’s individual needs.
