Shine On.

Shine On.

There's a light that shines in each of us, driving us forward and lighting the way for everyone around us. At MVP, we recognize and celebrate that shine as we help to empower wellness in all of our members.

Making the World Bright.

MVP initiatives and sponsorships help communities shine across the region.

City Mission

The City Mission provides help for today and hope for tomorrow by meeting basic needs like food, shelter, and clothing. Each day, they serve over 600 meals and provide shelter to more than 100 men, women, and children. Going beyond basic needs, their holistic approach addresses spiritual, physical, intellectual, community, and emotional needs—helping individuals in need build healthy, balanced, and sustainable lives. A City Mission participant stated, “City Mission gave me the tools to rebuild my life and the heart to help others do the same. I wake up every day now with gratitude and purpose.

Strider’s Club

At the MVP Striders Walking Club, the road to healthy living starts with one other. Each week, residents gather to walk together and foster connection at a pace that anyone can match. It’s good exercise, but that's not all. In the words of one walker: “You feel like you’re a part of something.” It’s this unique sense of community that keeps participants coming back, rain or shine.

Fitness Courts

No home gym? No problem. The Hartley Park MVP Fitness Court in Mount Vernon is one of many across the state. “Trust me,” says Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard. “You’re going to see me out there.” And she’s not alone. The Mount Vernon Fire and Police Departments are regulars, often engaging in friendly fitness challenges that prove how community workouts can be accessible and fun.
