Dr. Carl Cameron is MVP’s Chief Medical Officer with more than 20 years of experience as a physician and a health care executive. Throughout his career, he has led with a deep commitment to putting the health and well-being of our members and communities at the center of all we do.
A native Western New Yorker, Dr. Cameron’s earliest lesson in caring for someone came from watching his grandfather care for his grandmother, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. This early experience taught him not only the importance of caring for those who are ill but to also care with compassion and respect for the person. From then on, he knew he wanted to be a doctor.
As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Cameron provides medical expertise and medical management of all clinical operations, including support and innovation, utilization management, care management, pharmacy, clinical quality, and Total Medical Expense.
Dr. Cameron has often insisted that we need to advocate for our members as though they were family. He takes to heart that members have entrusted us to help them receive the care they need and is paving the way for innovations in advocating for members’ care. He believes MVP should be there to meet our members’ health care needs, whenever and wherever they arise.
