MVP encourages timely DEXA screenings following fractures or when clinically appropriate. To improve access, MVP partners with Retina Labs to offer in home bone density screenings, allowing members to complete their test without traveling to an imaging center. Retina Labs contacts eligible members directly and schedules a home visit with a trained technologist to perform the scan. Test results are shared with the Member and their Provider, supporting continuity of care.

To encourage follow through, MVP also offers an incentive to eligible Members with an MVP Medicare plan. Members who complete a required bone density screening may receive a $25 gift card for a local grocery store or for Uber.

How Providers can help:
Discuss bone health during visits, reinforce the importance of DEXA screening when indicated, inform patients about the availability of in home testing through Retina Labs, and highlight the Member incentive when appropriate. Together, we can help women detect osteoporosis earlier and reduce fracture risk.
