Programs to Help You Cover the Cost of Medications
At MVP, we want to ensure you get the medications you need to get or stay healthy. You may qualify for help in paying for drug costs through:
- Medicare’s Low Income Subsidy (LIS or “Extra Help”)
- Programs through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
Medicare Low Income Subsidy (LIS or Extra Help)
You may qualify for extra help if you’re eligible for Medicare and meet specific income and resource requirements.
To see if you qualify, call:
- Medicare at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227), 24 hours a day (TTY 1-877-486-2048)

- Your state Medicaid office
If you have both Medicare and Medicaid, you qualify for Extra Help.
We follow Medicare’s Best Available Evidence (BAE) policy to determine your eligibility for Extra Help paying for your prescription drug costs. For more information on BAE, visit the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) website.
