What do Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum mean?
Health insurance plans are classified by metals. The designations have nothing to do with quality of care. They are simply based on how costs are split between you and the health plan.
For example, Bronze plans tend to have lower premiums, but higher deductibles and other out-of-pocket costs. Platinum plans have the highest premiums, but also the lowest deductibles and out-of-pocket costs.
