Little Footprints®

Little Footprints brings together a range of services, each focused on a different part of your journey. This maternity support program is here to help you feel informed, supported, and confident from pregnancy through your baby's first years. And great news - there's no need to register for Little Footprints! Many of these services are easily accessed through Gia.

Doula Services

Doulas provide non-medical emotional, physical, and informational care during pregnancy, labor, and after your baby arrives. They can help you feel more prepared and confident by answering questions, offering guidance for you and your partner, helping you share your birth preferences, and providing encouragement throughout your pregnancy and birth experience.

For MVP Medicaid, Essential Plan, and HARP plan members

If you are pregnant or had a baby within the past 12 months, you can work with an in-network doula, covered under your plan. You may also have access to Mae, a maternity support platform that connects you with a trusted doula.

With Mae, you can:

  • Get matched with a doula who fits your needs and preferences
  • Receive ongoing support during pregnancy, birth, and after birth
  • Work with a dedicated care coordinator who helps you stay connected and get the most out of your services
  • Ask questions, talk through concerns, and feel supported along the way
  • Track your pregnancy, find educational classes, and explore on-demand resources

Sign in to Gia to get started or learn more about Mae.

For MVP employer-sponsored plan members

You may be eligible for reimbursement for doula services*, up to $1,500.

How it Works

  1. Find a doula that is right for you. You can find a doula in or out of the MVP network
  2. Work with your doula throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum as needed—there are no time limits on their support
  3. Pay your doula out-of-pocket
  4. Complete the Member Reimbursement Form for Doula Services
  5. Submit the form using one of the submission options listed on the form

This gives you the flexibility to find support that fits your preferences.

*Reimbursement for doula service claims is limited to a maximum of $1,500 per contract, per calendar year. Reimbursement is not eligible if payment is made using a Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), or Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA). Individuals who used HSA, FSA, or HRA funds to pay for doula services cannot receive duplicate reimbursement for the same service. Payment for doula services does not count toward plan deductible.

Infant Feeding and Lactation Support

Get expert help with feeding your baby, whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or both. In addition to traditional in-person options, members have access to the following infant feeding and lactation support services.

Breastfeeding Support from CLS

Through CLS, members can receive a covered breast pump, along with access to certified lactation consultants and registered nurses. Nursing mothers can work with a lactation consultant for help or guidance from the start of their breastfeeding journey, though weaning.

Virtual Feeding Support

Get help with feeding your baby, right in Gia. With virtual infant feeding support providers, you can connect with experienced lactation consultants and feeding specialists for personalized guidance on breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and newborn nutrition. Whether you have questions about latching, milk supply, pumping, or feeding routines, support is available to help you navigate common challenges and feel more confident along the way.

Personalized Care Management

Care Management

If you have health concerns, are facing personal challenges, or need extra help along the way, an MVP Care Manager is here for you*.

Your Care Manager works one-on-one with you throughout pregnancy, helping you navigate your care, connect with resources, and get the guidance you need.

A Care Manager May Be Helpful If You:

  • Need help with transportation, housing, finances, or other life challenges
  • Have heard from your doctor that your pregnancy is “high-risk”, or has expressed other health concerns
  • Have had a difficult pregnancy or birth experience in the past

How a Care Manager Can Help:

  • Answer your questions and explain your care options
  • Help you stay connected with your providers
  • Connect you with MVP programs and community resources
  • Support your health and well-being during pregnancy
  • Help you prepare for childbirth and recovery

To connect with a Care Manager, call 1-866-942-7966 (TTY 711). Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5 pm.

*Available to eligible MVP members.

Care Advantage

If your employer-sponsored health plan includes Care Advantage, you have access to a care manager, who is a registered nurse, for extra support during pregnancy and after delivery.

Whether you have questions, are managing a health condition, preparing for your baby's arrival, or navigating unexpected challenges, your Care Advantage nurse is here to help.

Your Care Advantage nurse can:

  • Answer questions about pregnancy and postpartum care
  • Coordinate with your providers
  • Connect you with MVP programs, services, and community resources
  • Provide personalized guidance based on your needs
  • Support you throughout pregnancy and after delivery

You can connect with a nurse at any point in your pregnancy, and they may also reach out if extra support could be helpful.
